Back Upper Left

Being able to decipher the cause of your pain can be rather challenging. Of course, you want to know what’s going on and whether the pain warrants visiting a doctor. The sooner you discover the source of your symptoms the sooner you can get the treatment and care you need to make it stop. Here at Total Health Center, our team of physical and occupational therapists are ready to provide you with a full range of rehabilitation services so you can get back to what matters.

The left upper quadrant of the body runs from the top of the head to the abdomen and the most common complaints tend to be neck, shoulder or back problems. Fractures, injuries, accidents, sprains, dislocations, overuse or excessive wear and tear can lead to musculoskeletal pain in the upper left side. Furthermore, poor posture can also affect your musculoskeletal system and lead to muscular problems or spinal misalignments.

If you are dealing with musculoskeletal pain in the upper left side it’s a good time to schedule an appointment with our osteopaths, who offer a wide variety of myofascial release and spinal manipulation techniques to realign the spine and to take pressure off tendons, joints, ligaments and other soft tissue that may be affected and causing your pain.

If your pain and discomfort occurred at work and you have a strenuous job it’s also important that you seek care from our occupational therapists to make sure that your body gets the treatment it needs to heal so that when you go back to work you know you are 100 percent. The last thing anyone wants is to fall back into chronic or severe musculoskeletal pain because they didn’t give their bodies ample amount of care and rest.

We also offer physical therapy here at Total Health Center. These varieties of exercises are designed to strengthen and improve the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and other soft tissues of the body. Regular physical therapy can also improve coordination and flexibility while reducing pain and inflammation.

Everything from overuse injuries and osteoporosis to tendinitis and bursitis in the shoulder, neck, arm or hand can be treated through a variety of manipulative techniques, physical therapy, ultrasound and electrical stimulation, and functional training (e.g. ergonomics).

If you are dealing with musculoskeletal pain in the upper left area of the body then it’s time to schedule an appointment with us. Call our osteopathic office at (269) 968-0888 today!
